Marco Polo’s city

17Feb13

I am back.  It’s been several days though I’m till getting over jet lag.  And still daunted by task of culling through the photos I took.  Here’s a quick preview.

And not like anyone ever needs a reason to visit Venice, but this was my main reason.

I’ll be back by late next week.  Hope to see you then!

  1. Welcome back!! I canNOT wait!!!

  2. Aaah…Venice and Mardi Gras! I just put down a novel set in Venice and then picked up my computer and found your pictures of Venice…perhaps a nudge from the universe! Looking forward to your images.

  3. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Venice. Some loved it, the others loved to hate it. I wonder what you think of the city. Oh btw, welcome back! :)

    • Thanks Bama. I guess it’s like any other city then :) Well it is very touristy and so impossibly pretty that I can see how people would “hate” it. Plus who hasn’t seen a million photos of gondolas, bridges over troubled water and all ! But it is “real”–I think 1500 years old, and not like it’s built for tourists. I really enjoy it. I can’t remember the last time I travel during high tourist season, so I’m sure that adds to enjoyment factor. Plus easy to get to quiet part of Venice to escape crowds if you want to. So sure, why not add this to your long list of places to visit !

A tantalizing sampling… looking forward to much more when you’re completely back. J.
